PTA Balloon Catheter, or percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), is a surgical procedure used to open up a blocked blood vessel using a catheter, or small, flexible tube, with a balloon at the end of it. When the tube is in place, the balloon inflates to open a blood vessel, to restore normal blood flow. Ureteric (pyeloplasty) catheters are often used in a wide range of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as to open blockages, dilate vessels, deliver stents, and more. Thus, there is an increasing demand for them worldwide.

The deflated PTA Balloon Catheter is placed in the narrowed/blocked blood vessel and inflated for the short period to open a blood vessel and then deflated again to be removed. PTA balloons are available in various shapes, sizes, and lengths, depending on the anatomy they are intended to be treated with. Ureteric (pyeloplasty) catheter can be used to treat peripheral vascular lesions in two ways, such as to expand stents to treat vascular blockages and to expand the lumen of an obstructed or narrowed/blocked blood vessel.

As the balloon inflates, the cage causes the balloon to form a series of segmented grooves and cushions along the entire wound. The grooves help to relieve tension and prevent the dissection from spreading and the pillows apply force to create the small dissections that are essential for effective dilation. The PTA means percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (percutaneous means through the skin). PTA Balloon Catheter is an innovative medical device inserted into the radial artery in the arm or inserted into the femoral artery in the leg to treat constricted blood vessels.

Thus, with the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular and urological diseases across the globe, Demand for PTA Balloon Catheter is also increasing at a rapid pace. For example, in 2021, Recently, Kossel Medical Selepass PTCA Dilatation Balloon Catheter and Selepass NC PTCA Dilatation Balloon Catheter have been approved by the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) for sale in Japan. It is an important department for the technical review of highly managed medical devices in Japan.
