Gum Arabic The Gum Arabic produced by certain species, such as the Acacia Senegal tree, is known as gum arabic. It's a type of dietary fiber that dissolves in liquid. There is no good scientific evidence to support the use of gum for high cholesterol, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and other illnesses. Gum is used as a film-forming agent in peel-off skin masks and as a pharmaceutical ingredient in treatments for throat or stomach pain. Acacia rigidula, acai, and cassie absolute are not to be confused with Acacia farnesiana. How does it work ? Gum Arabic is a dietary fiber source.
