Cannabis has seen a rapid rise in popularity among the general public all over the world. Its recreational use far outnumbers its medicinal application, even when illegal consumption is factored in. The global market is expected to gain traction as cannabis becomes more prevalent in previously untapped consumer markets such as Thailand, Australia, and others. Its legalization is gaining traction around the world, owing primarily to increased awareness of its various medicinal benefits and therapeutic distribution channels.

Cannabis Beverages are alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that have been infused with cannabis or marijuana. Consumers' growing concerns about hangovers and calorie intake have prompted companies in the food and beverage industry to invest in the production of cannabis-infused drinks.

The Global Cannabis Beverage Market was valued at US$ 205 million in 2018 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 38.3 percent from 2019 to 2027, reaching US$ 2743.7 million by 2027. Cannabis is used as a medicinal drug because of the numerous health benefits it provides, including blood pressure control, improved sleeping patterns, and relief from anxiety and depression. Pharmaceutical companies have conducted extensive research to develop cannabis-based medicines and treatments that are safe for patients' health and do not have any negative side effects.

The legalization of Cannabis Beverage for medical and recreational purposes has had a significant impact on alcoholic beverage sales. As a result, many alcohol producers are investing in the growing trend of marijuana-infused beverages. For example, Lagunitas, Heineken's fast-growing California beer label, recently introduced Hi-Fi Hops, a cannabis-infused beverage with no calories or carbs and infused with Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) (THC). Constellation Brands, the third-largest beer manufacturer in the United States, announced a collaboration with Canopy Growth, the world's largest marijuana grower, in 2017 to develop cannabis-infused beverages.
