Cardiac Pacing Leads has Important Role in Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease

The global market for Cardiac Pacing Leads is driven by the growth in the number of people suffering from cardiovascular diseases. According to the American Heart Association, nearly half of the population will be over the age of sixty-five by 2050 and two billion by 2100. Moreover, unhealthy work practices and an on-desk culture are also contributing factors to this growth. This is what is driving the global market for cardiac pacing.

This pacing wire features a polymer tip that is soft and radiopaque. It reduces the risk of myocardial perforation while allowing for visual feedback on tissue contact. The lead also incorporates two stabilizer loops, one of which can be deployed from a side port. In addition, the balloon in the tempo lead enhances wall apposition in the right ventricle and provides atraumatic fixation through a spring loop.

The Tempo Lead is a radiopaque polymeric lead with bipolar electrodes and a soft tip. The soft tip replaces the conventional metallic electrode tip and reduces the risk of cardiac perforation. The temp Cardiac Pacing Leads have a handle-actuated fixation mechanism that improves the myocardial attachment of the electrodes. The lead also has a balloon that is inflated to aid its passage into the right ventricle.

In terms of the removal technique, the Tempo lead is the most common one used for pacing leads. While it is successful, it was a costly procedure that often resulted in damage to the heart muscle wall and fluid accumulation around the heart. In addition, to avoid these complications, open heart surgery was necessary to remove non-functioning pacing leads. To help ease the process, tools were developed to facilitate the mechanical extraction of Cardiac Pacing Leads. These tools include counter-traction with mechanical sheaths, telescoping styles, and locking styles.
